Nina Pope and Karen Guthrie have collaborated as artists and film-makers for over fifteen years, in 2008 winning the first Northern Art Prize. Their first two documentary films “Bata-ville: We are not afraid of the future” (2005) and “Living with The Tudors” (2008) premiered at the Edinburgh International and SXSW Film Festivals respectively and both have DVD distribution. Their films have been called “quirky”, “drily funny” and “British to their core” . With recent projects they are combining this track record with their early career expertise of ambitious on-line and live event delivery. For example projects like a “A Hypertext Journal” - a proto-blog - created in 1996 and “Broadcast: 29 Pilgrims, 29 Tales”, the first live streamed artwork for Tate Modern made in 1999.
